Little things & big things!

Howdy everyone!
Well its been a busy couple of months on the ol' artwork front here. I've just finished work on the artwork for a story for the first issue of "Innocent Tales", written by Gavin McComiskey. Its one of three strips in the first issue, with artwork for the other two being provided by the awesome Anthony O' Neill and Steven Richardson (Not to mention a stunning cover by Tommie Kelly). Its due out in August, and you can check out all the info at the Green Monkey Comics website.
This month, as part of the 10 Days in Dublin event, there is a comics exhibition on in The Twisted Pepper in Abbey Street (Right beside the Luas), called "Little Room of Comics". Its a showcase of all the great Irish talented comic book creators. I'll have quite a few bits on display and for sale there, so if you are in town pop in and have a look, and maybe even grab yourself something cool.
I'm also kicking around a couple of other things that I cant talk about just yet (cause I'm shy!), but keep your eyes out and I might let you know soon.

Here's a little Batman picture I did while I was "working". I'm quite happy with how it turned out, maybe I just prefer this version to moody Bats. Enjoy!

Cat Cassidy on ICN

The good people over at Irish Comics News are currently doing a spotlight on some Irish comic creators, and last week they were good enough to post up a story from issue 3 of Short Sharp Shocks, The Adventures of Cat Cassidy. You can go have a look here:

Make sure to check out the other creators who are highlighted too. This week its Declan Shalvey & Andy Winter's brilliant Tim Skinner. Go have a look!

Back from the abyss....

OK, so its been an embarrassingly long time since I updated this blog, so I should have loads of stuff to write about right? Well.... probably. I have been doing a lot of stuff in the last while, but mostly for other people so there's not too much to talk about. I did two strips for the first issue of Lightning Strike (the second issue is out now too!), and a cover for Abandoned Comics Blackstar Issue 1 (also on sale now). I've also been doing a lot of private commission stuff, which is cool to do but I don't get to show it off.
As for my own stuff? well Short Sharp Shocks is three issues old now and I'm going to start on issue four (soon, I promise!), but they are all on sale in most Dublin comic book shops. If you haven't picked them up yet, here's a link to a couple of reviews to help you make up your mind:

I'll be updating the blog a bit more regularly as I go along with the production of issue 4. I'm also taking down the dedicated Short Sharp Shocks blog to kind of streamline things a bit (and because typing in is a pain in the wrist!). So stay tuned! And since you have been so good in reading all the way down to here, here's some pretty pictures!

Bots of Honour

Last year I got involved with a project called "Bots of Honour", which is a series of Transformers fan comic stories. It was officially unveiled to the public over the weekend, with one of the stories I worked on, "Inscription" being the first to be released. You should keep an eye on this one, all the work that has gone into this is fantastic. you can have a look at it here: do check it out, there a great cover design by James Biggie for this story too.

So here's the whole first story for you to have a look at. Line art is by me, colours & story by John-Paul Bove, & letters by HdE.
